Role Summary:
The Senior Test Embedded Engineer will be responsible for defining and executing comprehensive testing strategies for embedded software and hardware components within Linux environments. This leadership role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, driving automation in testing processes, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring the highest standards of product quality and reliability in cybersecurity solutions.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with test engineers and cross-functional teams to establish effective testing practices and priorities.
- Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans and cases for embedded software and hardware.
- Implement and promote automated testing tools and frameworks to improve test coverage and efficiency.
- Identify, document, and track defects; communicate findings to development teams to facilitate timely resolution.
- Conduct root cause analysis of defects and lead continuous improvement initiatives in product quality and testing processes.
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups to foster team communication.
- Maintain and update comprehensive test documentation including plans, cases, and reports.
- Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in embedded systems testing and integrate them into team processes.

Ideal Candidates Will Have:
- 8+ years of experience developing and testing embedded systems with a focus on hardware and software integration.
- Strong expertise in embedded programming languages such as C and C++ and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
- Proven experience with testing tools and frameworks like Gtest and Pytest, alongside automated testing methodologies.
- Hands-on experience working in Linux environments and familiarity with Linux tools.
- Knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes and tools.
- Understanding of communication protocols including I2C, SPI, and UART, and hardware interfaces.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and leadership skills capable of motivating and guiding junior team members.

Required Skills/Experience:
- In-depth knowledge of embedded systems testing and development.
- Proficiency in Linux-based testing environments.
- Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks.
- Familiarity with hardware communication protocols and interfaces.

Other Skills:
- OSCP, SANS/GIAC, CISSP, or equivalent certifications (preferred).
- Experience with cybersecurity compliance regulations and security frameworks such as ISO/SAE 21434, NIST, HIPAA, COBIT, OWASP, ITIL (added bonus).
- Exposure to industries like law enforcement, defense, intelligence, automotive, manufacturing, or software (advantageous).
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
